10 Years and Counting – Helping Local People in Crisis

18th October 2018

10 years of Bournemouth Foodbank

Marking 10 years of Bournemouth Foodbank

From a garden shed to a warehouse, Bournemouth Foodbank has grown with the need for emergency food in our community.

Recently, Foodbank staff, volunteers and supporters came together to celebrate the work that has been done over the last decade to meet this need.

A service was held at St George’s Methodist to honour those whose passion and hard work have gone into making the project what it is today and to thank God for the way he has provided.

Foodbank manager and founder discuss 10 year celebration

The Foodbank’s founder, Vicky Lent, explains:

When I was involved with the launch of Bournemouth Foodbank from my garden shed all those years ago I could only dream it would be supported enough to facilitate the growth that has been required to feed the struggling people of our town.

The response has been wonderful, and although its very sad to know how much need there is locally, it has given a chance for people to reach out and unify to support the Foodbank by their donations of food, money and time. They have responded magnificently and we are very grateful and humbled by it.

So a huge thank you to all who have been involved in the past and those who will be in the future.

If you would like to continue to help support our much-needed projects, please consider making a regular donation of food or money.
