Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.



We are currently recruiting for the following posts:


Office Assistant

Help direct enquiries and administer the foodbank’s warehouse and network of referral agencies and distribution centres.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has strong literacy skills.
  • is confident on the phone.
  • is proficient with the use of IT.
  • can prioritise and manage a list of tasks without loosing sight of the individuals and families who depend on your work.


Client Assistant

Meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a passion for helping others.
  • is a good listener.
  • has the emotional endurance to share another’s burdens.
  • can demonstrate sound judgement in assessing the needs of others.


Van Driver

Collect donations from our supporters and deliver food parcels to our distribution centres.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is over 25.
  • has held a valid drivers license for more than one year.
  • has no more than three points on their license.
  • is confident handling a large van.
  • can represent the organisation well when wearing the Foodbank uniform and driving a Foodbank vehicle


Social Media Co-ordinator

Administrate the foodbank’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, using them to best effect in the communication of our message.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has good written communication skills. Ability to write interesting, engaging content based on recent Foodbank events or news.
  • has strong organisational/time management skills. Able to keep on top of different messages and tasks.
  • is digitally literate. Must be comfortable using social media.


Partner Liaison Worker

Network with various organisations to develop partnerships that work towards the eradication of poverty in Bournemouth.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • can use initiative to make new contacts and find opportunities to develop existing partnerships.
  • has some experience working with one or more of the following groups: businesses, schools, churches, community groups, statutory agencies, grant awarding bodies, the press or other charities.
  • can manage their time well to meet goals efficiently.
