Details:

Bournemouth, United Kingdom – Bournemouth Foodbank is pleased to announce the launch of its new Warm Spaces initiative, made possible by the generous support of the Dorset Community Foundation through BCP’s Warmth Support Fund. This Warm Spaces initiative aims to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for individuals and families who come to our centres to collect food parcels.

As part of this initiative, Bournemouth Foodbank is hosting a series of free Pop-Up Café events and a special Mother’s Day event, all taking place at the newly created community space at The Garden Rooms Café in Bournemouth Foodbank in Boscombe. The events are open to everyone, and attendees can enjoy a delicious meal in great company and a comfortable environment.

The Pop-Up Café events will run on Saturday, the 11th, 18th, and 25th of March, and offer attendees the opportunity to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Mother’s Day event will take place throughout Sunday 19th of March and is a perfect opportunity to treat mums across our community who might otherwise not have the chance to be celebrated.

“We are incredibly grateful to DCF for helping BFB to reach out to even more individuals and families in need, by funding free hot, nutritious meals and drinks to anyone in need in our community,” said Sara Armstrong, Community Fundraiser at Bournemouth Foodbank “Our Pop-Up Café provides a warm, friendly space for families, friends, and neighbours to come together over a healthy meal, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner in our new Garden Rooms Café. It’s also helping people in hidden poverty receive help and combat loneliness.”

The Warm Spaces initiative is part of Bournemouth Foodbank’s ongoing commitment to providing support and assistance to those experiencing food poverty in the Bournemouth area. Foodbank users visiting our Boscombe Hub during March can also enjoy a hot drink and a free meal while they wait for their parcel.

The Pop-Up Café and Mother’s Day events are just the beginning, and the organisation plans to continue hosting similar events in the future.

“We believe that everyone should have access to nutritious food and a comfortable environment, and we are grateful to the Dorset Community Fund for their support in making this initiative possible,” said Debbie Coombes, Bournemouth Foodbank’s Project Director.
