Bournemouth, United Kingdom – Bournemouth Foodbank is delighted to announce the success of its recent Business Breakfast held on Friday, 31st March 2023. The event was attended by members from KTM Design, who designed Bournemouth Foodbank’s community Café, Garden Rooms Café, and Trethowans, who helped Bournemouth Foodbank acquire the lease of the St. Georges building, as well as members of AFC Bournemouth, ASDA, Tesco, Co-Op, Notorious Features Ltd, The Firkin Shed, Warrior PR agency, and Zest Plan.

“Our donors are essential to the Foodbank’s work, so it was a pleasure to welcome our business supporters and serve them breakfast in our lovely Garden Rooms Café”, said Mary-Ann Robertson, Trustee at Bournemouth Foodbank.

During the event, attendees learned about how their donations have been used and how they have been supporting Bournemouth Foodbank and its projects. They also heard about future plans and projects from Mary-Ann Robertson and Sara Armstrong, our Community and Corporate Fundraiser. Attendees were given a tour of the café and warehouse led by Warehouse Manager, Becca.

Sara Armstrong, Community & Corporate Fundraiser at Bournemouth Foodbank, said, “We couldn’t make the sort of impact we do for those in need in our community without the support of our corporate partners. It was fantastic to share breakfast with them, thank them in person and show them how their support keeps making a difference.”

The event also highlighted some of the Foodbank’s ongoing projects, including Bundles that Love, a baby bank, and pop-up café events held during March, such as a Mother’s Day pop-up café as part of our Warm Spaces initiative during winter.

“Since opening the Firkin Shed in 2015, we have developed close connections with the local community and have regular fundraising events for the Foodbank,” said the team from The Firkin Shed. “ We are amazed by the generosity of our regulars and so proud that they feel as strongly as we do about these issues and trying to help where they can. The Springbourne Community is well and truly alive and active.”

Bournemouth Foodbank is grateful for the ongoing support of local businesses, whose contributions have enabled us to continue providing vital services to individuals and families in the Bournemouth area experiencing food poverty.
