At Bournemouth Foodbank, we’ve observed a subtle decline in Foodbank use over the last three months compared to the previous year. We believe our additional food projects may be a driving factor behind this reduction, highlighting their impact and importance in our community. However, it’s crucial to note that the overarching trend of Foodbank usage is still on the rise, reflecting the growing need within our community. As shown in our reporting for the year, each month has seen a consistent demand, with September marking the highest number of parcels distributed.

The data presented on Bournemouth Foodbank's statistics (this page and other reports) is subject to certain limitations related to the measurement of unique users, which may vary depending on the timescale used for analysis. Specifically, when aggregating unique users over different periods, the figures may not accurately represent the true number of individuals served. For instance, if a family of three accesses the foodbank twice a month from January to March, this would be recorded as three unique users per month, resulting in a total of nine unique users when summing the individual months. However, when considering the same data on a quarterly basis, which is our standard aggregation method, the family would only be counted as three unique users for the entire quarter. This discrepancy arises due to the nuances of data aggregation and should be taken into account when interpreting the figures. We continually strive to improve our data collection and analysis methods to provide the most accurate and meaningful representation of our impact on the community.
