Meet our team of trustees

Michael McClintock (Chair)

I live in Southbourne and have a background in teaching, IT and training. I bring a wealth of real world experience to this role. I now run my own companies and some rental properties locally, but have lived and worked overseas. My partner has been a parent governor at a local senior school and was a Junior school teacher (with special responsibilities for IT) at a Bournemouth public school. I volunteer at the Southbourne Food Bank at St Emmanuel’s church. I am chair of Governors at Pokesdown School and also separately at Stanley Green school, Poole.

Julia Shaw

Hello! My professional career was in Brands & Marketing where I spent many years in international advertising agencies, including 3 years in Chicago. I came back to the UK and spent 15 years at BBC Studios where I headed up global brands like Doctor Who, Sherlock and the Planet
Earth series. I grew up in Bournemouth and came back frequently to visit my parents.. I returned to live here full time in 2020 and wanted to get more involved with the local community. I have retrained as a Health Coach and am passionate about helping people find better wellbeing. I started volunteering for Bournemouth Foodbank at the CityGate Hub in 2022 and became a Trustee at the end of 2024. It’s so good to be in BCP- it’s a wonderful and unique area. I love the beach, the gym, cooking & eating, reading and the theatre. I am married and live in Westbourne with my husband and our gorgeous dog.

Emma Kelly

Emma brings over 25 years of senior HR leadership experience across major UK and international brands, including Sainsbury’s, Vodafone, Sony, and Barclays. Her expertise spans strategic people planning, organisational development, leading teams and business transformation. As a Trustee of Bournemouth Foodbank, Emma contributes her deep knowledge of HR, employment law, and governance to support the Board and the charity’s mission. She is passionate about community wellbeing and social impact, with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, people-focused environments. Emma has lived in and around the New Forest and Bournemouth area all her life and in addition to her trustee work, Emma is an active volunteer and committee member at Christchurch Rowing Club.

Andrew Main

I bring over 20 years of senior leadership experience across banking, education, and business consultancy. My career has included roles such as Vice President at JP Morgan, CEO of an independent school, and Director of Operations for a group of schools and nurseries.
I currently work as a management consultant, advising businesses on strategic growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance. My strengths lie in governance, team leadership, financial oversight, and project delivery — all of which I apply in my role as trustee at Bournemouth Foodbank to support effective decision-making, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

Rhea Pinfield

My name is Rhea, I am a trustee at Bournemouth Foodbank and have been for around 2 and a half years now. I was born round the corner in Boscombe Hospital and have grown up in Bournemouth, so I signed up as a trustee to give something back to the local community and bring my skills to a worthwhile cause. I am a solicitor working currently for Ordnance Survey at present.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, reading and baking. I also like being outdoors, so spend lots of time walking the Purbecks and New Forest.

Richard Smith

I have spent over 20 years working in health, social care and community services, leading teams and organisations whose purpose is to support people at their most vulnerable. My career has included roles as a Registered Manager, Regional Operations Lead, Programme Manager and CEO within charities, local government and care organisations. I’ve managed regulated services, overseen safeguarding and quality assurance, and delivered major improvement and transformation projects — all with a strong focus on dignity, fairness and public protection.
I bring experience in governance, risk management, operational leadership and financial oversight, along with a calm, practical approach to problem solving. I’m passionate about supporting staff and volunteers, strengthening organisational resilience, and helping the Foodbank continue to grow sustainably so it can meet the needs of local people for as long as it is required.
Outside of work I enjoy sailing, swimming and generally trying to keep fit. As my family has started to leave home, it’s given me the opportunity to get more involved in the community I live in and to give more of my time to causes that matter. I’m proud to be part of Bournemouth Foodbank and to support an organisation that plays such a vital role for people across our area.

Lauren Jenkins

I’m really proud to be joining Bournemouth Foodbank as a trustee, combining my professional experience with something I care deeply about—supporting people and communities when they need it most. I’ve always been passionate about the charity sector, particularly fundraising, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and safeguarding. For me, these aren’t just focus areas—they’re essential to creating organisations where people feel valued, respected, and safe.

I’m excited to bring my experience into the role, helping to strengthen inclusive ways of working, support sustainable fundraising, and contribute to the long-term impact of the Foodbank. Just as importantly, I’m looking forward to learning from others and being part of a team that’s making a real difference.

I try to live by a simple ethos: you can be anything in the world, but it’s most important to be bold, brave, and kind. That’s something I’ll carry with me in this role, and in how I support both the organisation and the community it serves.
